the rules ✨

Last updated: July 2026

We keep a short list of rules so glitr stays a fun place to hang out and so we can keep spam and abuse out. Please read them, and keep them in mind any time you post something or change your profile.

These rules work alongside our Terms of Service and our Child Safety Policy. Breaking them can get your content removed or your account suspended or terminated.

be yourself (mostly)

Don't pretend to be someone you're not.

We get that parody profiles of public figures are part of the fun. If you run one, make the joke obvious: label the profile as a parody where people will actually notice it, so nobody mistakes it for the real person. Unlabeled impersonation isn't parody — it's just impersonation, and it's not allowed.

don't be a spammer

Don't use glitr to:

  • Manipulate, deceive, or scam other users.
  • Create large numbers of accounts.
  • Flood the site with excessive posts, messages, or repeated content ("spam").

If your account is suspended, you may not create new accounts to get around it.

keep it safe

glitr has no room for any of the following. Don't post it, link to it, or use your profile to push it:

  • Violence — threats, incitement, or glorifying violence or violent extremism.
  • Abuse and harassment — targeting, bullying, stalking, or piling on another person.
  • Hateful speech — attacking people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or similar characteristics.
  • Harmful content — including content that encourages self-harm, suicide, or disordered eating. (If you're struggling, please reach out to someone you trust, or call or text 988 in the US to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.)
  • Illegal content — anything unlawful, or that promotes or helps others break the law.

Tobacco, vaping, and similar brands may not use glitr to advertise or promote their products.

keep it PG

glitr is meant to be something you'd be comfortable showing anyone. Keep it clear of:

  • Nudity
  • Sexual or pornographic content

This applies to images, videos, links, and text alike.

respect other people's work

Don't post content you don't have the right to post, and don't violate anyone's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property. See the DMCA section of our Terms of Service if you need to report infringement.

reporting and enforcement

If you see something that breaks these rules, see our Report Abuse page.

We may review, remove, or act on content or accounts at our discretion — but we're a small hobby project, we can't catch everything, and we're not obligated to. Our judgment on what belongs on glitr is final.
